  • ok...I'm officially worried

I payed more attention while driving the car today and noticed it's only 1st gear that revs alot but doesn't actually go anywhere fast, it will still move the car enough to drive normally but revs more than i believe it should

I will try and get a video of exactly what i'm talking about

this would lead me to believe that the trans 1st gear is going bad (it's an A4) because all the other gears seem to pull with lots of power just fine

Yea i think your 1st gear is slipin then it hits 2nt and you can go. Thats what it sounds like

I don't know much about automatic transmissions, but that sound right. Maybe the 1st gear clutch plate or 1st gear may not be getting enough pressure to engage properly.

ok...i took it over to a buddies house who drives the drag cars for a drag racing team...

he said it sounds cammed and it has a shift kit, felt similar to the ones they have in there drag cars in general...

He told me it's not shifting into 2nd because of the shift kit, then since I dont floor it it eventually will shift. The car shifts great and flawlessly when i give it enough gas, it's only when I'm trying to keep it below 3K rpm when I have any "issues"

Just had to get used to the car but my buddy said he thinks everything is fine...and I trust him and his experience since he has driven many performance vehicles...

so it may just be a cammed w/ shift kit and I haven't driven either of those and it got me confused...
