Well, the motor is pulled out of the '68 for a pesky oil pan gasket leak. While I was tearing it apart, I realized that the headers just sucked. They were rusty as all hell.

What are you guys using on your cars for headers?? I am running a stroked small block 350 and a 4 pseed manual trans. Flowtech and Hooker comps are cheaper, but will I see much of a difference by going to super comps?? Hedman's look good as well. Anyone with a preference on these cars??

It's easier to make a 3rd gen faster than to make a 4th gen look good

im not sure what the difference is between comp and super comp. But IMO as long as they are full length with 3" collectors and at least 1 5/8" primaries, youre ok. I would recommend 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 primaries for a stroker though.

hedman headers have small flanges and are harder to seal than say a pair of hooker headers. Make sure you get a pair that is ceramic coated or stainless if you can afford it. I went the cheap way when I bought mine and am now regreting it.

And another thing.....when I gun the motor, I want the whole world to think it's coming to an end.

that heat wrap stuff looks like you need miles of it to even do a "decent" job. plus that stuff is kinda expensive. is it even worth wrapping your headers if they're not coated, or just putting that money towards a new set?

Supercomps are tuned I believe (equal length?)

I am really shopping for an oil pan gasket, to replace the leaking one that I have. I am also in the market (shopping, and weighing prices) for a front disk brake kit for the car. I will post a grocery list for you and if you want to throw out some prices, we shall see what we can do.

hey CS3, I see you carry comp cams for LT1s. could you get a 224/230 on a 110 LSA? Im not looking to buy right now but I havent found anyone other than comp directly that carries them.

no i dont, like i said ive never found it anywhere. its a cc503 but that probably doesnt help. its avalilible in 114, 112, and 110 durations. (112 is everywhere, and you can find 114s here and there)

edit: my apologies for threadjacking CHEV 383
