I just did a site migration this past weekend at a new plant we acquired and a guy there helped his son build a 69 and they put a 700R4 in it. I'm not sure what mods it took to do. They just finished the car so I don't think it's had much drive time with the trans but I'd definately be all for it. I'd get a built one with a non electronic lockup. There's several companies that are making them.Comment

Well it's not too dificult to do on a 2nd gen, and 1st and 2nd gens are somewhat similar. Pretty much all you have to do is get a new crossmember, get a shorter driveshaft, and get a different shifter.
