  • transplant updated buckets in a first gen bird

i am looking to update the interior of my 69 firebird... it needs seat upholstrey and i figured for the price i would pick some newer buckets and transplant them in something more comfortable, but stylish at the same time

was thinking some black leather power buckets from a newer bird or camaro or even a GTO or something....

I dont like the looks or feel of a APC racing seat

has anyone transplanted anything like this?
    2010 camaro SS1
    1969 Pontiac Firebird
    2004 Chevy 2500HD Duramax Crewcab-tow rig
    2003 Chevy 1500 Red Cab-Plow truck
    2006 Cadillac SRX-wifes DD
    1972 Chevelle SS

I have APC "racing" buckets out of a Mustang. Had to cut/weld the brackets but it wasn't too bad. Only thing I can complain about is that they sit way too high. Just have to watch out for how tall the base of the seat is.

      Used to own a Firebird.

I believe GTO seats are power, so they will require some extra wiring.

Measure, measure and then measure one more time. The floor pans and rocker are a pain on our cars. The stock seat belts are in the way too.

I put in 2008 G5 leather buckets last year, lots of seat track bracket fabbing, aftermarket belts, seat height is still a slight issue but getting used to it.

            Not the easiest retrofit.

Width across the tracks, seat bottom at the tracks and hinge point, seat bottom height all must be taken into account.
