  • Kew 1967 Camaro SS project

So we tore down our mystery motor and are now in the process of finding new parts or a replacement motor...here's the pictures.

    Discovered parts:
Camelback 2.02 heads, 64cc and unported
Forged Dome-top pistons, 2cc SpeedPro brand
    Moroso pushrod guides
    Erson 1.5 ratio roller rockers
    Dual-springs
    Solid roller lifters
Cam was like 4.88 lift on the intake side, unknown duration and I don't remember the exhaust side was about a 4.7X

    See the honing?

I'm not sure on your plans to rebuild it but if you use a flat tap cam be sure to use Rotella T 15/40, brad pen racing oil 10/30, or any oil with GM zinc additive.

Modern oils don't have enough zinc.

Piston p/n corresponds to a TRW .030 overbore LT1 replacement with a .100 dome...supposed to be expensive, so don't just throw them away.

Allegedly they work at 93 octane with a booster if you're running a 76 cc head...anything smaller and these need a significant octane increase.

Sounds like a nice set of pistons either way...

Rectangular port heads and that wide open intake indicate a purpose built motor...(i.e. go really, really fast...)

I really have no idea what my dad's going to do to the motor...I think he's going to buy a pair of dart heads and a new cam because of a chipped lobe in the old one.

Not sure if he's going to sell them when he gets new ones but he might put them on our other motor...the "spare" bone stock 350 longblock sitting in the back of the garage. I'll let you know if he puts them up for sale.
