    Oil drain plug.

    I changed the oil on the 68 last night . I always have a tuff time getting the drain plug to quit leaking. It has a plastic washer with it. I snug it and then go some more then some more and still leaking. I will try a new washer .
    Its a chrome oil pan. any body have a fix.

    Might want to try one of these...you never actually have to remove the plug...

        maybe a bit of silicone or rtv each time you change it? stuff is very easy to scrape off afterwards

          I don't have any problems with leaking but I might get one of those anyways. I'm ordering my new diff. cover so I might have to order one of those up too.

            Get yourself a flanged HHCS and a o-ringed washer and say goodbye to leaks.

              I made a batch of nylon oil drain plug washers on the lathe and even threaded them with a 1/2-20 tap so they would screw onto the plug. Then passed out spares to pals with old chevies. My popularity shot up a few points that day!

                That is a good idea. I will do that myself if the new washer don't work.
