Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

I have a oil pan leak and need to replace the gasket. I was told that you have to jack up one side of the motor to do this. Is this true.

I don't know about your car but replacing the pan and gasket on m 96 grand marquis I just unbolted one motormount and used the other as a hindge. On the 85 TA the motor has to come out because I was using the same pan and it is a 1 pc pan gasket.

you have to get enough space to get the an to drop enough to work. I have unbolted both, and put some blocks in to hold the engine about 4 inches higher
I had to yank my motor. There was no way to get in there to do the job right, in my opinion. Plus, I didn't want to do the job and have it leak again. Gasket was a lot easier to install with the motor upside down on a stand.
I would highly recommend a Felpro one piece gasket. They are easy as hell to install, especially if you are looking at doing it on the car. Don't forget to buy a can of gasket cleaner and a can of gasket "glue" to hold that gasket on the engine, while you tighten down the bolts.
