Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!

They may drive them for testing for up to a year, but it would be for testing and validation. No manufacturer would drive them for a year to "see" what happens, which is what accelerated testing is all about. If it's captured test fleet, that might last a few months at best, right before launch.

I doubt it'll be out on the road until only a few months before. I have a friend who's high up in GM, knew all about the Camaro long before it was released to the public, took a test drive in the Z06 with him (scared the piss out of me, but that's another story) and that was only 6 months or so before launch.

You're right Brian. I bring m-plates home quite often. They generally hit the road no earlier than 1 year before production. And they do NOT let us take one home without full camo, until the production version has been "revealed" at one of the annual auto shows. Generally with a car in full camo, you have to have a chase vehicle at all times with you and a locked garage to put it in when you get where you are going. Performance testing and durability testing is mostly done at the proving grounds, not on public roads. Once the reveal happens, which is usually between 3 and 6 months before launch, then you can take them home uncovered and show them off to everybody.
Any employee caught parking a proto vehicle in a public place, and allowing the public to look at it before the press launch, would be out of a job ASAP. Lucky family members and a couple of neighbors may get a sneak peek sometimes, but that's about it. I'm sure GM's policies are no different from ours. I'd love to see the Camaro at a meet, but it probably won't happen until 2009.
If I can, I'd love to bring a Challenger to the 2008 M&G . . .
