sptted a couple camaro concepts being unloaded at the milford proving grounds along with a new corvette!?!?!?(corvette blue devil aka the supercharged z06?) also being called the stingray

I disagree, i think the Corvette Stingray would be killer. Bring back a legendary name, but I think with my hood I'm kinda partial to the Stingray name.

I agree that bringing the name back would be a good idea, but not for just a limited production like they are talking about doing for the supercharged vette.

I think that it would be more suitable for for something like the (currently) retro looking, mid-engine C7, but I think the namesake for that is the manta ray or something like that.

god I hope they don't smear it with the same badging and SS name as every other model. Regardless of how badass it is it will really tarnish it IMO.

are you talking about the new c7 corvette that they will be calling the zo7 or ss? or a supercharged c6 zo6 cuz iv not heard of the stingray name yet only zo7 and ss i was just reading an article on it today in motor trend i belive

PLEASE GOD.....don't let them slap the SS emblem on that car....its an insult to the line...why dont we just call it Corvette-Generic??? WTF??

GO WITH STINGRAY....Only vettes have ever been called that....

Kinda like my opinion about calling the top end camaro a Z28, only camaros have ever been called that...

Well that's your first problem. The article you just read is outdated because it was printed in Motor Trend (a magazine). Never believe the information you read in the magazines, especially rumor-mill type stuff. They're ALWAYS atleast 6 months late. I'll never forget when we were seeing pictures of the Camaro clay concept one of the big magazines was publishing an article saying the Camaro was dead and that they were canceling Zeta architecture.


But yeah, GM wants to put Corvette SS as the name, but there's also rumors of it being Corvette Z07, Corvette ZR6, and Corvette Stingray.
