Back in the day it was cool to cruise with the parking lights on. I still do it in my daily and my 02 Camaro. I noticed that the front parking lights don't come on when you turn the lights on in a 5th gen. The blinkers work, but the lights don't come on. Is there something wrong with this car or is that the way they are?

To be honest I've never paid attention, but I would imagine it'd be the daytime running lights that come on which may or may not include the parking lights. On my 5th gen I know the day time running lights are the headlights, but I don't know if the parking lights come on with them or not.- Brian Meissen

Here is some pictures of my 2011 SS (NO RS option). The headlight switch has the option of just the parking lights, and those are on when in parked. No ideal whats going on when its going down the road.http://www.fquick.com/csmith4153

The parking setting on the dial won't work unless you cancel the auto headlights. The cancel is the symbol to the left of your auto headlights, followed by auto, park, then low beam on the far right in your picture. Cancel isn't a notch in the dial either, it is just a momentary switch that activates when you bump the dial that way. So if you want to set the park, you have to bump it left to cancel the auto, then hit the park light setting. If you want to turn auto back on, you just bump the cancel again and leave it in auto. This should give you what you are looking for.
