  • Hot Rod Magazine's Camaro Survey

Saw this on another board, thought I'd post it, don't recall seeing it on here.

Hot Rod Magazine, http://www.hotrod.com/ , is holding a survey to submit to General Motors.

    Quote from Hot Rod:

Let GM Know How to Build the New Camaro!
By now you've heard the Camaro is coming - but how do YOU want it built? Here's your chance to tell GM exactly how the new Camaro should be equipped - from engines to options. Fill out our survey by October 13th and we'll hand-deliver the results to the higher-up's at GM in person - no kidding!...

Not sure if GM has already set plans in motion or not, but it still may be useful to do. Of course, if you think it's too late to make a difference, be my guest and skip it. It does give you a chance to give detailed explanations as to how you would change the car as it is now.

    Here it is:

i filled out the survey. Looks like it will be a good survey for them to gather data from... only thing i didnt like about it was that Z28 was assumed to be a base model v8 :thumbsdo:

I know it, I still think if GM is smart they will make the Z28 the top model just like the ZO6 is for the Vette, the damn SS moniker is to widespread to other models to mean much IMO. I can't beat the drum hard enough on this issue.

i dont expect it to be top model necessarily. ZL1 should get that. but Z28 shouldnt be base. Z28 was intended to be an all out 'business' car in the first gen (which the 5th gen copies), so basically it was like a badged 1LE. frankly i wouldnt mind if the Z28 ended up being a modified SS. just change the badging, make it 6 speed only, taller gears, stiffer suspension, oil coolers, and no major creature comforts. Basically, it could be what the SS was for fourth gens. frankly, I know it will never get its own specialty engine again... even though that would be kick major ass if they came out with a small displacement screamer again.

Sounds good... they kept specifying 4.10 gears

and are they thinking of having a solid axle option? or is that Hot Rod talking? I would like the SS427 supercharged package please... lol In Hugger Orange or white with orange stripes!

Keep in mind most of it is probably Hot Rod's speculation.

FYI - I of course opted for the Hugger Orange, lol.

Much as I'd like a LS9, I don't see me affording it, guess I'll have to settle for an LS7, dammit, lol.

I agree with you on how SS is overused, but I think there should be a Camaro SS, especially since it has 1st gen styling or w/e they call it. The 1st gen SS's were badass. I always felt that the Camaro SS was the top model Camaro. Mainly b/c 1st gens and a couple 2nd gens, the biggest motor came in the SS.

Wonder why you want Z28 to be the top model

You camaro guys have way too many labels, RS, SS, Z28, Berlinneta, IROC-Z...

Cute, but bull. These things are planned out YEARS ahead of time. GM has a solid plan for what it is doing 15+ years from now.
