And you can probably put in into 5th at about 35 and chug along. That's even better gas mileage than my Cobalt, haha. Now was that the DIC or calculated?

Truly amazing you can pull off a solid 5mpg better than the regal. I drive almost 100% 55mph just cruising, and average about 22.5 on my drive too and from work.

You should get better than that...I did about 75% of 65 mph coupled with some city and 75mph driving on the way to and from CMU the other weekend and got over 30.

No way sir, I have never got jack worth of mileage out of that car. The new engines suck, and is probably the reason it only lasted 1 model year and was replaced by the 2.5..... The LAF is a piece of junk

Sorry B, going to make a new thread for this.....

I really am not comfortable doing that. 2,000 rpms was just barely above lugging the engine, it really feels a LOT better shifting it at 2.5k.

OK B if your more comfortable shifting at 2,5k, then wind her up and shift at 5k you'll get there twice as fast so you'll use 1/2 the gas and get 60MPG!!!!!! LOL

                    Want a cookie? You're still driving a Mazda 3.

At what speed do you shift into 6th?

Is gearing similar to 6 speed 4 th gen?

Depends on the situation. Usually seems like I'm shifting into 6th gear between 50-55mph unless I'm merging onto the freeway in which case it'd be closer to 65-70.

I was saying that as in my car sucks that it's just a shitty little 4 banger and your 6 cylinder get's the same. (I hate my Mazda!!! and I think the Domestic karma is kicking my ass for getting that car (see my facebook pictures from today))

The second car I owned got 26-27mpg! WTF?

My corvette usually gets 35 smiles per gallon. I think the worst I have gotten was 5 smiles per gallon, that was the day my alternator failed on woodward.
