Honestly, how often is your mom going to be driving it? I'd go with the "ask for forgiveness rather than permission" method here. It would be a great car to learn on, so much torque in these cars with just a mere LS3

Just wait! you'll love it. Had my auto ZL1 for a month now and it is crazy fun. A manual is great if you are a purist, but there is no shame in an auto. Some of the top euro supercars are auto only now. In any flavor, a ZL1 will have you grinnin' like a fool. Oh, and if you check the numbers, you'll find the the auto is a little quicker then the manual ... and you'll never miss a shift!

Zombie thread!!!
edit: mike beat me to it
The euro autos are not really an auto in the same way your car is. Most of them are either dual clutch units, or electronically controlled and shifted manual transmissions. And if the ZL1 auto trans is like its CTS-V counterpart, yeanothanks. The "manual" feature needs a lot of work yet.Originally posted by zl1 View PostSome of the top euro supercars are auto only now.

Ok. guys, I'm new here so don't beat me up!
I know what you saying about euro auto-manual units. It's more that the auto shifters are consistent, and if you not use to a manual, the ZL1 will be a handful.
