Looking at the posts in his thread, that was before the ysi. And he was only making ~550hp when he first posted

Yea, I know. Posting in a dead thread.

[QUOTE=efpardo;705775]Nice car but I thought for sure it would be a link to My car.
Dude... no offense, but it's an RS V6... c'mon now. That's like comparing apples to oranges.

sometimes we need to learn when to keep our comments to ourselves.

Erick has a nice RS and I'm glad he is proud of it. Red Alert 2.0 is a base model and Brian is very proud to own it as well.
We all have common interest on this site, but we don't all have the same taste. I have lied to people saying their car looks nice even though I didn't care for it. People love getting compliments.

Biggest bullshit statement of the year Brian. With only a couple weeks left, I like your chances it taking it all!

Getting compliments are nice....when appropriately lobbied for. When someone suggests a comparison like this, it suggests a couple things:

          1. Ignorant
          2. Really ignorant

Seriously? This comparison is two football fields and a shit-house apart. You want compliments, make your own thread "My GenV RS". Those that want to post....go nuts.

While I'm on a box....giving someone a compliment "just to do so" should revoke all posting privledges.....indefinately. What's the point? Post count? Running for office? Ballz up, call it like it is (good or bad) or keep it to yourself. C'mon, we've all seen and read it before...."its your car, if it make you happy...." blah, blah, blah knowing damn well no one in their right mind would even consider doing the same.

Yes, we are all part of a community where pride (some fragile) need the occasional reinforcement of efforts in our labors of love. Believe me I get it...I need a little "love" once in awhile too. Some of us need to be knocked down occasionally in making presumptous statements in one-dimensional opinions or comparisons to the rediculous. Please dont dumb it up with an empty defense of something YOU know yourself is just wrong.

Brent your a good guy and your your doing an extentive build that many people are jealous of, but not everyone can afford to make the car of their dreams. I don't know Erick but he has a V6 RS and he obviously likes his car. What I like about the car hobby is their is something for everybody- Lifted trucks, low riders, rat rods, traditional hot rods, all show no go, race cars, donk, etc.
Lets say some 22 year old has a 75 Camaro and it was his first car. He has hundreds of hours into it and it may have some issues stil but it is his baby. Him recieving a compliment means alot. Its kinda like being fat and no one notices that you lost 30 lbs.

Maybe you will get your wish and I will revoke my posting.

Missed my point Brian....my build is irrelevant. Hell, some people dont like what I'm doing. Not sure who though....

I understand pride in your ride what ever it is. The subjective nature our hobby does span a broad spectrum of vehicle, interpretation and yes, money. BUT to accept/defend that posting a pic of a car under the presumption that it is any where near the pic in the original post is silly. Lol....that is my "unsolicited opinion" of the day

I'll just say that I'm honestly disappointed in how you guys are acting, minus Brian. Whether Erick's post was sincere or a joke, there's absolutely no reason to be as rude as some of you were in responding. We try to pride ourselves in being a friendly atmosphere and then I see responses like that...? Disappointing for sure.

                I'm embarrassed.

Exactly my thoughts too Brian. I was disappointed as well. It's one thing to rag on a long standing member here who makes a dumb ass post, but to do that to a brand new member who we know nothing about seems really inappropriate to me.

Really confused in the mind set here. Are we now saying its OK to throttle long time members, coddle short timers....then hammer them when they've served enough "time"? Cant have it both ways...

I have a feeling there is a minority in thinking this "dumb ass post" was taken as a joke. As a proud member of one the friendliest forum/communities anywhere, there are unwritten rules in social forums like this. You post up and put yourself out there without a disclaimer (i.e., j/k, etc)....you set the table for the wolves. No one is going to read anyone's mind....

I liked the RS, just needed some stripes on the roof other than that Constructive criticism could have been used at least. I get flack all the time for my W68 but usually from people who dont even have a nice car anyways, F body guys are usually supportive aside from the occasional V6 joke. Ide say take it easy on the guy, its not that serious.

I would like to say sorry to Erick. It's just the way that he posted his comment really struck a nerve on top of a bad day. I did not mean to hurt anyone's feeling.

It's awesome that you have pride in your car, its because of people like you that I have a job . But maybe instead, post up a thread showing what you have done to yours so far instead of posting in someone else's thread.

Again, I am sorry for any hard feelings.
