  • 2012 Camaro Convertible Preprodcution Spotted with Top Down!

    http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97072

    Reported on CAMARO5 HOMEPAGE.

We bring you the very first photos of the 2011 Camaro SS Convertible in final preproduction form testing with its top down, and not only does she look virtually finished, but she's gorgeous! A couple of apparent design differences to the Camaro SS coupe is the trunk spoiler shape and the presence of the sharkfin antenna on the trunk.

This inferno orange metallic Camaro SS Convertible was spotted running the back roads with a 2010 Mustang GT Convertible, for comparison. The drivers were seen actively comparing the two cars and providing direct feedback in comparing the two car.

The latest update was that the 2011 Camaro convertible is slated for production beginning in the second half of 2011 (subject to change of course).

I like it. If I was to buy a 5th gen, that's what I would get.

Of course - even with a 5mph fender bender. Death is certain - one way or another, the NHTSA will make sure you die because it's dangerous.

That's why they invented roll bars. First thing I would install if I got a vert.

Its the fact that when we asked why there had to be a B piller, everyone responded "Safety!"

Now we get a car on the same platform that lacks a B piller, and c piller, and doesnt have a roll bar.

So as far as I'm concerned - GM can yank out the B pillar on the coupe models too. **** you NHTSA!

I think convertables must be too heavy to roll over

I saw a finished SS 'vert at the Tech Center Design Auditorium yesterday (not positive if it was a model or an actual car, but whatever). I couldn't stop staring at it...it was drop-dead GORGEOUS
