The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. FYI, car&driver compared the new stang to the SS and the stang won but they hated the "cheap mustang base interior" and seemed ok with the Camaro's except for the blindspots.

The text below the image says 2010 Camaro SS guys... that's not a picture of the new interior. Read a little bit, don't just look at the pics.
Correct, they are not showing the new interior but reporting that it is going to change. It has been getting beat up bad in alot of forums and magazines but the mustangs gets all kinds of love, which is funny when they test a base mustang interior and say it sucks but add the $4000 in options and it's great. Now it costs more than the Camaro. The car&driver test had the Camaro faster also, 13.0 1/4 to 13.2 for the stang so it is a close drivers match.

I still stand by my comment on the steering wheel, its hideous.
I agree. the steering wheel is easily the worst part of that interior, 2nd to only the friggen b-pillars. The chrome rim in the center also wobbles up and down when you turn the wheel which is a major fail.
The biggest fail is the lack of NAV system. Or the fact you cant see out of the car. Or the C pillars that are massive. Or the goofy ass manual trans shifter knob(seriously who the hell thought that was good) or the massive black abyss called the passenger dash area.

You forgot the massive piece of cheap plastic in the door panels.

I think that my major issure with the new camaros is just the fact that, despite its short comings, the 4th gen was one of the most well balanced camaros ever built. A combination of looks, performance (both straight line and on turns) and fair pricing. Yeah, it had squeeks and rattles ocasionally, sure it didnt ride like a Caddillac. But it was a damn fine car for the money. I think by 2002 it was getting a bit overinflated price wise. But IMHO the 4th gen was a TOUGH act to follow. And I think they could have hit a little closer to the mark. Again, JMHO. Eric L
