Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

LOTS of mustang owners do LTs, Full exhaust, and CAI to pick up some more ponies. Can't be done with this one, while all of those mods are still showing great improvements with the Ls3. Plus, when you want to go above those numbers it isn't as simple as just throwing a s/c on there like SOOOO many owners like to do.
From a marketing stand point, this separates GT500 and GT. Different strokes for different folks. I am sure they will figure some way to get more power out of this motor. LT will still show some kind of a gain, CAI will find some kind of gain. As for a SC....sounds like 5.0 owners are f'd. With time the aftermarket will learn the motor and its secrets. May take a few years but it will happen. I just cant believe that the motor is maxed from the factory, this wouldnt be much of an improvement over the 4.6.
Yeah, but lets not forget how many years it took them to GET it to 315 hp. Im deffinately impressed, but like was already said, it was a preproduction car. Ill wait to see a few more production cars dyno before I pass judgement. I will say though, if production cars can put down those numbers, its going to be the closest camaro mustang race in a LONG time. This is going to be cool. Eric L

No one thought the 4.6 would end up at 315 stock.
If anything, it puts it closer to the GT500, when it was too close to it already. LTs will pick up a small gain, cold air won't gain anything, it already has one. Look at the specs, it is maxed out from the factory. Like I said, its going to be a great engine for anyone who buys it and never mods it, but for those who do, they are going to have to completely build it to get any significant power gains. Something being built to the limit like this, doesn't lead to good durability either......

Where'd the info of the rods being maxed out come from? I'm just curious?
me too? do they have PM rods? or forged? i know my friends 03 cobra(i know is completely different car) cam stock with Manley H beams!! factory redline at 7400..
Yup, pm rods. There was an article on the new 5.0, where ford engineers stated that they had to REALLY lighten up the rods to rev it that high, and sacrificed a lot of strength doing so.

if thats true thats a load of baloney. That engine is only a 3" stroke which should be relatively easy on the rods in the high RPMs.
