  • A blend of old and new - 1969 hood inserts on 2010 Camaro SS hood

Here’s an interesting mod we hadn’t thought of. Forum member jamesfl decided to blend a little bit of old with a lot of new in installing the hood inserts from his 1968 Camaro SS onto his 2010 Camaro SS hood. Not only does this achieve the look James wants, but it should also [...]

        Absolutely awful...

Why don't you paste some Buick fender portholes on it while you're at it.

        Dumbass...

I'm not really feeling it because it just doesn't flow well with the rest of the hood and the car. But, it's cool that he's thinking outside of the box.

He should've just cut a 55 gal. drum in half and welded it on top of his hood.

                      Used to own a Firebird.

Now that's just horrible. They don't blend with the car at all. Yup, looks like a cheap Pep Boys stick-on item.

And, as I've said on here before, I hate the all blacked out look. The car has nothing to draw your attention, it's just a big black blob.

I look in on Camaro5 quite regularly, and am continuously amazed at the things those people think is cool. Sometimes thinking out-of-the-box just does not work and just turns out dumb looking.

I agree, why would you give someone credit for "thinking out of the box" when all they have done is ruin a perfectly good car?

Eh, out of the tons of mods that people do while they're thinking outside of the box, eventually one or two will turn out to be good mods. Not to mention - if the car community stifled people for thinking outside of the box we'd be like LS1Tech used to be - every car looks the same with the only acceptable modifications being stock replacements.

Bottom of page four in the thread... someone did a PS of them, recessing them into the hood. Looks better, but I would never do it.
