Well I think the Z28 is part of rebuilding GM's image.
two examples
Up until recently Toyota was losing money on every prius they sold.
At work we are fixing up a 1958 Cadillac Edorado Brougham. They were the MOST expensive car at the time(more than a RR) $13,xxx. Again GM lost money on every single vehicle.

my opinion, if you dont like the Z28... go buy the GT500, or just keep driving your LT1
I think its silly to be so adamant about forged pistons, but hey, to each his own. There are a million other design features i like about the LS engines over the Ford Modular... Forged pistons is definately not enough to sway me.Last edited by DanO; September 30th, 2009, 09:40 PM.

No problem, and back to your original 2nd question, the "LS9" is different from the Caddy "LSA" motor with 638hp vs. 550hp. I believe the LSA would be the one used.Originally posted by prorac1 View PostThis is true, but out of the box times are one thing, bolt on a set of drag radials and a pulley on the GT500 and watch out. The more I think about it, you may be right though. Why start a HP war. Make the Z28 hook and handle VERY well, and put the power to the ground. Some minor computer tweaks and exhaust and Your looking at damn near 11s with a stick. I guess thats why we have these formuns. Thanks for opening my opinion to other options. I was just going to say - I didn't think the Cadillac was using a supercharged LS9.
