  • 2010 ss six speed

did anyone else see what chan. 2 had one at the strip in n.j. it ran 13.8, 13.8, then changed to a better driver that raced there and worked there he ran 13.6, 13.6, then let air out then ran 13.5, 13.5, not too good for a 426 hp car that costs $45000. better watch out for a few lt1s.

      guys...

remember, the LS1 cars are really ~350 hp and ~3400 lbs

The new cars are 426hp and 3900+lbs

so lb/weight they are close but im sure they are slightly faster than an LS1 car given equal conditions and driver.

Exactly correct. They seem to be a tenth or two faster than LS1 cars with equal drivers. Seems to be the norm for LS1 cars is 13.4-13.5, and 13.2-13.3 for 5th gens. LS1 m6 does have a best of 12.89(i think), but I am sure that in the next year or so someone will turn a 12.6 in a 5th gen. Just need a 1.7-1.8 60ft, and powershifting.

Do not forget the unsprung weight of those 20's wheel/tire and the height which is 3" more than a 4th gen. with the same gear ratios for auto and manual. That 3" extra height drops the 3.45 rear to probably 3.1 compared. It is working hard to overcome the weight and gearing along with a thin sidewall that does not want to launch.

What a stock L99 Camaro owner has to look forward to.

Yes I know it's a modded M6 Trans Am but RWHP for both should be pretty close.

Put a CAI, exhaust, TB and a tune on that L99 and it will be a complete role reversal.

Actually a tune may be enough considering all the torque management.

So get a Mustang GT and be done with it. Less than 30k out the door and only a few tenths slower than a 5th gen. Oh, and that is with a 15 year old motor too. Wait till next year.
