Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
Although subject to various interpretations, Bob Lutz’s most recent comments perhaps dampens the possibility of the Camaro Z28 program being given the go-ahead in the near future. In conversations with Automobile Magazine, Lutz casts some doubt on the potential Camaro Z28 by stating that powerful V6’s and turbo 4 cylinder engines are a better [...]
I believe it did once. Long ago though. At least there was a 'Bird I saw with one. Whole lot of room in the engine compartment. Sad sight, but it was there.
But this statement from Lutz is indicitive of why he, along with the rest of the GM brass, need to be put out to pasture.
Do not tell the populace what car they have to buy...build them a car they want to buy.
The car weighs 4100 pounds...more than 1100 pounds than the Cobalt...that poor little motor will be working overtime with only 260 lb-ft of torque to get it moving...
Outside of Lutz, I have not heard a single other person endorse a 4-banger in a Camaro.
Let it go, Bob...just let it go...

I think it is because I take it in and out all the time, the rubber has just stretched out, especially at the bottom where it is really thin. It annoys me more then anything.

When I was in autos class back in high school we had a 4 cylinder Camaro come in once. I think it was a very early third gen (carbed). I guess that part of it could have been a reaction to the oil crisis....although the sports car facade only worked when the car was off.

I think they learned from the iron duke.
What you said about weight is exactly why it wont happen. The only reason people could think of it is because of CAFE and MPG ratings, but it the motor is revved to hell trying to keep up it wont get any better mpg than the DI 3.6.
