Am I the only one that's tired of forced induction 5th gens already? BORING... There's what, 10 companies with the same damned Supercharger on it now?

Are you serious, Brian. How can an extra 100 hp be boring. The supercharger is the easiest and most efficient big HO mod to do. It packages well and you don't have to open the engine up for any internal work. Nothing else will get you that kind of HP. A twin Turbo setup would be a packaging nightmare.

Other "regular" bolt-on's can't touch those HP numbers. Remember, these cars are being built in numbers, not just for one person. They need a package they can install over and over.

How does a ZR1 Corvette get it's extra HP? Oh ya, a supercharger. Are they boring, too? Sure, it would be cool to do an LS9 engine swap, but those engines cost $30,000 through the parts dept. You instantly have a $60,000+ Camaro on your hands, and that's without any other mods, like wheels, suspension, paint/graphics, interior mods, etc. How many of those do you think they can sell?

Even if there are actually 10 companies doing the supercharger mod, there will only ever be 200-300 Camaros at most modified in this way, total. (Compared to thousands of "regular" 426 hp SS's) I think it a cool and smart mod to make for those companies doing special edition cars.

I'm not saying a Supercharger isn't efficient and doesn't get the job done - I'm just saying I'd like to see some other options from the aftermarket companies. The supercharger has been done now, let's see something new.

These cars still have to meet emissions regulations and retain their factory warranty, which limits what can be done. These same restrictions do not apply to an individual, but do for a company, like a dealership, or factory connected company like SLP.

There will be cat-back systems, cold air boxes, etc, but none of those things will ever provide the power increase of a supercharger. (They will most likely be part of the packages too, along with the supercharger.)
