Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!

Yeah, I was figuring, but one of the guys at work had the redition on his wallpaper and I wondered how he got it...'Course we do government stuff, so...., but anyway, cool thoughts but never a reality.
If you're talking about the first sketch by Kevin Morgan, then you're right. If you're talking about the rest of the pictures, then no sir. ASC Creative Services created the mockup that is pictured - http://www.camaro5.com/?p=845
Pontiac Trans-Am fans lamented the recent announcement of Pontiac’s demise because it signaled the impossibility of a potential new Firebird based off the new generation Camaro. However, ACS Creative Services would not be deterred and has transformed a 2010 Camaro to its vision of a Pontiac Trans-Am. The ACS Trans-Am includes a full cosmetic makeover including a signature Pontiac style split grille, agresive front, side and rear aero panels, rear fender vents, trunk spoiler, mirrors and hood. The company does not have plans to mass produce this car, but will gladly transform your 2010 Camaro to what you see in the photos.

Disclaimer: Yes, it's not American Sunroof Co, it's American Speciality Co.
It is however one of the same principles - when he closed down the original ASC he opened this one in it's place. According to an ex-VP that was involved in both (I met and talked to him at Boomers about a month ago) the pictures are nothing more than the bored (though he could have meant "board") renderings of a graphic artist and that it is "unlikely to ever get off the board".

There was an interview article on this in one of the Pontiac magazine's with the owner of ASC. The article made it sound like this might really happen. ASC brought the renderings and scaled models to GM and they had a meeting about it. The car won't be sold buy GM though, but instead you take your 5th Gen Camaro to them and they modify it. ASC also talked about the possibility of changing the title from Chevrolet Camaro to Pontiac Trans Am. Also ASC talked a lot about different drivetrain possibilities with turbo V6's and Diesel engine's that GM has been working on.

Yeah, this rumor has been discussed as well.
After retooling front/rear fascias, fenders, hoods, and front/rear lighting (muy expensive), you're looking at a $20,000+ body kit essentially.
As for diesels, until they actually produce the new-age uber-cool diesel for the trucks (that they just shelved), this is at best a poor internet rumor.
ASC can't pay it's creditors now let alone have the capital to bring to market an expensive facelift kit with a limited market.
There is one internet rumor out there that makes a bit more sense and is gathering steam, but the likelyhood of it becoming reality won't be known until GM comes out of bankruptcy.
This one involves GM shedding the (unwanted) Pontiac dealers and cost through the bankruptcy process, and once that is complete, Pontiac would be retained in the "new" GM that emerges from BR and re-marketed to the remaining dealers.
So...if Pontiac is somehow retained through BR, something may be possible as they evolve into GM's performance arm.
If not...it's dead.
