I'm just still trying to figure out how Moran is telling him that he'll have it in a month. It's my understanding people who ordered in October won't be getting it until well into May, June, or LATER. Howwwwwwwwwwwwww? Not to mention, production hasn't started yet, GM wants to get mostly v6s to the dealerships first for a stock car (not saying they won't be doing v8s at all, but the ratio sounds like v6s are going to be produced more than the v8s) and not to mention that there's 50,000-something other orders that were placed before his...

oh trust me i know. i couldn't believe it either, but right on the order sheet it says "should be about a month, come by and put a deposit down when you can" so ya we'll see. but IT IS ordered. He's been trying to order one for months and been getting pointed in all different directions by mis informed dealers. finally moran called him back today and said if he got his order in by the end of the day, they could have it built this week. then it'll get trucked to their dealership and have all the dealer installed parts put on. then he can pick it up. so ya im definitely crossing my fingers and hoping it really is a month... pray for me. lol. i told my dad, "im driving it to the M&G, can you please drive the firebird?" lol

                  Yup...pre-production only...most are sixers...

For October orders, I'd say a May delivery is very optimistic...they will go slow and not screw this one up.

You order it now...I'd hazard a guess that it will be a 2011 model year in August...but could be wrong.

Uhm did you read the title of the pics? Those were pre-production FLEET test vehicles that were going down the line.

Either way its ordered with a 6 speed so it sounds good to me.

Does the first person on the site with a 5th gen get their picture at the top or anything special?

Also, will be have a ROTM for 5th gen this year?

4th gens days of having the most cars could be numbered.

well lets just hope by march 9th i have a new SS in the driveway. haha. but i guess we'll see. if it's gonna be 2011 tho, he can't do that. his lease on his gp gxp is up in march and he's not going to extend it that long. he said if the camaro doesn't come through in a reasonable amount of time, the alternative is a g8 gxp.

Sounds good. I haven't drove a m6 in years but that is what I would get since I have an auto now.

brian's thread about the car haulers with 5th gens on them reminded me i needed to update this.

heard from the dealer yesterday, expected build date MARCH 16th. Yes I know it's over a month later than he told us it would be but still not bad. Should have it 2-3 weeks after that is my guess after the dealer options are added on. So it shoullllllllld be at the meet and greet. I'm excited

Should is the key word. The way GM is going who knows.

If anyone wants to order a Camaro you can PM me and we can work things out.

So in other words he's now owning up and telling you the date that production actually starts. I'm sorry Fred but your dealer that you're talking to sounds like he's full of you-know-what. Every where I go says "Production does not begin until March 16th" (That car hauler is not sale-able Camaros and will all probably be crushed in 3-6 months) There's over 13,000 Camaros sold. I thought they had 50,000 but at Cleveland he said 13000 so going by what John [Camaro marketing manager] said. So, 13,000 Camaros in 2 weeks when they have told everyone that they're starting production slow and ramping up over time? I just don't see how it's possible.
