Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
What none of the Ford fan-boys realize is that their V8s can't compete with that direct inject V6.

I think it is because I take it in and out all the time, the rubber has just stretched out, especially at the bottom where it is really thin. It annoys me more then anything.
Do the research, Motor Trend had an article on it a couple months ago, The reason is because of the Cafe standards which take effect 2020, The direct injection v-6 will have just as much power if not more with the turbo and way less than the v-8. Check google and read all the articles on it. I am not happy about what ford will do to the mustang, getting rid of the v-8 in there base line mustangs just isn't right. Yeah the v-6 may have more power but it won't sound right at all.
Please do the research before saying it isn't true. Just because you have never seen or read anything on it doesn't mean its not gonna happen.
Motor Trend jumped the gun when they hinted at the v8 dissapearing in 2010, but Ford has not denyed that the v8 may dissapear from the base line up by 2020, which means that only the shelby, bullitt, and possible boss mustangs in the future will have v8s in them. Ford in already scalling back production of there v8 mustangs by 40%.

how bout you do the research before saying they wont put a v8 in the mustang, I researched a couple mustang sites and saw NOTHING about dropping the v8, dont dis on other members when you have no idea what you are talking about yourself. Could there be a turbo v6? sure. But didnt people also start rumors about GM possibly putting a turbod or sc'ed v6 in the new camaro a couple years ago?
Think You missed a site
But here's the shock news: We hear there is a faction at Ford seriously contemplating fitting the new twin turbo EcoBoost V-6 to the 2010 Mustang. As they try to figure out how to meet 35mpg CAFE by 2020, Ford engineers are wondering whether the V-8has a long term future. The EcoBoost engine, which is currently scheduled to debut in a performance version of the Fusion, could be the more fuel efficient alternative for Mustang in the long term. Depending on spec, the EcoBoost is capable of up to at least 415hp, and has the torque to match a regular V-8.
Traditionalists need not worry, though - V-8s will still be very much part of the Mustang program for 2010. If the EcoBoost version does make production, Ford would probably offer it alongside the V-8, and let buyers decide which they prefer. There won't be much of a price difference, if any - although the base V-6 is a cheaper engine, by the time things like turbochargers are added it's basically V-8 money, say our sources. http://www.motortrend.com/future/fut...ang/index.html
"Who needs a V8 Mustang?
Are you ready for a twin turbo v-6
Think ford motor company isn't serious about getting v8s out of its mainstream cars and trucks? After making big news of how it can replace v8s with v6s and v6s with fours by adding twin turbocharging and direct gas injection, ford announced it would offer an ecoboost v6 in its moneymaking f150 by 2010.
Now comes the big revelation, Theres a contingent at the blue oval pushing to install the lincolns mks's ecoboost v6 under the mustangs hood. The argument is that the lighter 3.7 liter twin turbo, direct gas injection will produce more power than the base v8 and weigh less."

"End of the v8?
ford bets on direct injection and turbos
The first automaker to put v8s in popularly priced cars may be the first one to take them away. Ford motor company is investing big into gas turbocharged direct injection engines says derrick kuzak, group vp for global product development. So is the v8 dead? I am not sure kuzak replies. Ford will have to educate buyers that a gtdi v6 can be torquier than a 4.6 liter v8. One thing is certain, with the engery bills higher cafe standards the v8 engine will become more of a niche engine, more likley found only on low volume sport cars, luxury sedans, and trucks"
ok nice you found articles about research going into that setup none of those articles say ford is definately dropping the v8 in favor of that v6, so don't make claims they are.
