Maybe supposed to be, but the latch for the hood is directly behind the mailslot, no way could it be functional. It's just like the Z06, from what I've heard about their scoops it's not functional either and the only person who made it functional was Jay Leno in his C6R.

It could always go around. Whatever, when I get mine (or make my dad get one), it'll be functional.

The Z06's is partially functional (though I thought it was functional too), it actually cools the engine bay. I've heard that with the scoop opened up all the way and connected to the intake, the car would buck (MAF went crazy or something).
