Who's complaining about the power numbers? I think its got too much power if you ask me. Who needs more than 400 hp? I just want an inexpensive V8 like my Z28. I got my top model fully optioned Z28 for 25000 off the lot in November 2001. I want to see this car described as the "nail and hammer of sports cars" like my car. I really think GM is missing the target if the pricing is way over inflated as shown in this thread.

By the way, guys, on CamaroZ28.com someone that seems to be "in the know" said that the hood, lower fascia, and rims are all "SS" items.- Brian Meissen

I agree considering the `02 35th LE SS Droptops were pushing what about $38K. Fully Optioned Firehawks were close to the same price aswell.Originally posted by JoeliusZ28 View PostDude that makes no sense. Show me a cheaper car that has 525hp. A Z06 has less HP and costs more.
So 500+ HP Camaro for $40 G's is pretty damn good IMO

Ok so you were complaining about it being 40k... that breakdown shows SS starting at 28kOriginally posted by 02redz28 View PostWho's complaining about the power numbers? The American Dollar has inflated substantially since 2001. Z28 was never top model either, SS was - and it was really just a loaded Z28, which is not how the new lineup works.
I completely disagree about missing the mark. What other pony car has IRS? I personally hate IRS but its what the car needs to break its bad quality image. This break-down couldnt be any closer to what i had hoped to see. The V6 is even affordable!!!
I agree. That is practicaly a prayer answered for me.Originally posted by 9T8W66 View PostI also Like the fact that the Z returns to it's Former Top Dog Status and is only available with a Manual TransLast edited by JoeliusZ28; March 16th, 2008, 11:31 PM.-Joel

I'm not saying your wrong or anything but hasn't the SS badge been put on all the newer top models of Monte Carlos, Impalas, and Trailblazers? Just seems like people in general(with money and no knowledge) nowadays consider SS to be the best.Z28 was never top model either, SS was - and it was really just a loaded Z28, which is not how the new lineup works.

Impala and Trailblazer never had a bad ass Z## option. Monte Carlo had a Z34 in the 90's but everyone wants to forget that. When yous say people with money and no knowledge I think of people buying import cars. M3 as an example. Id say SS means just that, super sport. Id like to see Z28 be restored to its late 60's meaning, whatever that was.1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 - 6 Speed

HAHAHA your Welcome Jeff.Originally posted by 81DaytonaPaceCar View PostAgreed...but I didn't want to be the first one to say it...lol...
And I am would almost bet on the SS being the top model. Not saying I agree with that but why would they rewrite history. I mean the Z28 took the back seat to the IROC-Z and then the SS. I guess you could go even further back to 1973 when the Type-LT package Trumped the Z28 marking off the car. Plus I am sure there was many more examples, but these are just the few I can think of right off the top.Western Michigan Camaro Club ~ President
