So dead set against a Camaro that you'd rather get a Mopar?Originally posted by phoenix_rising View PostYep! Too bad for Pontiac. I guess I will just have to buy one of these instead...
Or maybe I can score one of these cheap...

The US gov really needs to back off. I would rather them not bring back the bird because they'll probably just ruin it. The last 4th gen birds where sexy looking so let them die in style.

I agree. It wouldnt make me so mad if everything was in the same format but when Solstice, and Vibe get to keep their names and Grand Am and Grand Prix get translated into G6/G8 it just doesnt right.Originally posted by phoenix_rising View PostI know, but all this G-string nomenclature is driving me nuts!1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 - 6 Speed

Sadly, it won't happen, for several reasons.Originally posted by phoenix_rising View PostGo 2012 Cuda Vert!
1. Chrysler has FINALLY realized that it cannot continue to compete against itself (i.e. Compass, Patriot, Caliber) and be successful. The Cuda would directly compete against the Challenger, and new owner Cerebus won't allow that to happen.
2. They'd have to reinvent the Plymouth nameplate...also unlikely.
Now a 2012 Challenger vert when the redesign comes in for LX...now you're cookin' with gas...Originally posted by Redd8407I WANT NOISE! SPEED! The 35mpg law is effective in 2020, BUT, they have to slowly improve their numbers to that BEFORE 2020. I don't know if all the details have been ironed out yet, but they know they will have to increase MPG more than what it is now before 2020 and then meet the 35mpg in 2020. Product development takes a LONG time and especially when it's a difficult to meet demand, they can't waste time and resources making interim cars that won't meet the new regulations.Originally posted by redfbirdv6 View Postim really getting annoyed, all these companies blaming not having certain cars because of regulations that need to take place by 2020, ok.. we are in 2008 right now. They can come up with some efficient cars to put out when they have to in 2020 but why do they all feel they need to scale back TODAY in 2008, last i checked that is 12 years away yet..

Getgone is absolutely correct, and that 35mpg has to be an average of all the automakers cars, so it's hard when gm has the trucks, and vans, and the camaro in the mix, i mean yes they'll probally have cars like the volt that help out with the average. Billions of dollars go into finding new ways of fuel injection and fuel atomization just to get a couple more miles per gallon out of a system. So it's better they start now,so that maybe in 5-10 years they'l figure out how to make a v-8 get 40 miles to the gallon, and then we'll all get to have the cars we want againsigpic

I'm personally getting sick of everybody coming out with this old style new gen. sports cars. Where's the imagination? They're so out of idea's that everybody's doing the same thing. Come up with something new or don't make it. If I want a camaro that looks like a 69, I'll buy a 69. I'm glad they're not remaking the Trans Am. It'll be just like everything else...oversized, overpriced.... I love my car and wouldn't trade it. You can't improve on perfection.98 Trans Am WS.6
