  • Reverse Spy Shot of the 5th Gen Camaro

This is a really interesting thread on CamaroZ28.com.

The idea was spawned over all the *****ing and complaining about how ugly the mules were with the camo. The idea was to take a 5th gen that we've all seen and like the looks of and to ADD camouflage to it to see how badly it'd disrupt the lines, edges, and dimensions of the car.

    http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=564605

Very interesting thread -- look at how much the photoshopped camouflage changes the lines and look of the car.

however some what i said about the lower valence on the side of the car remains true. so its 90% of a confession

Why do manufacturers even use camoflage? I mean its not like Chrysler is going to make a mustang or Ford a Camaro.

It boggles me why automakers put so much effort into making cars look so much worse than they are. the camo never works as a disguise, and naturally all the critics (me) end up ripping it apart. Scott himself said this is a source of major frustration for him, and its a frustration to the enthusiasts (me) seeing an important car appear 'butchered.' Bob lutz ordered the camo-less version be revealed just to correct it. Guess i dont understand they put themselves through the grief beyond the need to cover incomplete parts of the car. bra's covering incomplete headlights i can see, but the rediculous paint jobs are pointless.

Dunno...is it supposed to make them blend in?

...because they stick out like a sore thumb.

They say "Here I am! Take pictures of me! Over here, over here!".

Sure, maybe they want to confuse you, but you know what car it is.

yeah i kinda think the camo is a dumb thing just cuz it makes the car stand out which i kind of think is the reason why they do it anyway
