I think GM is missing the boat.
I believe the concept camaro/ and challenger were relived around the same time and the camaro will take another 300 days before is it available!!!!!!! I could be wrong on dates but I think they are taking too long.

For the billionth time! The Camaro is ALL NEW on an ALL NEW platform, not a rehashed, bastardized exsisting platform that the Challenger is on. It's easy to take a 300/Magnum/Charger and hack it up and put a new body on an exsisting drivetrain. It's a huge undertaking to build an entirely new car on an entirely new platform and retool a plant to build it. The plant in Canada just stopped making the Monte and other cars about a month or 2 ago. They're in the process of building it up for the Camaro. They're going as fast as they can to get this thing out, but it's not gonna happen overnight. There's a lot more than just throwing parts together. You have to do testing internally, crash and emissions testing, production line testing. There's just a TON of stuff to do on the Camaro platform that the Challenger didn't have to go through. I'd rather them take the time and make the car RIGHT then to rush it and have a mediocre product that doesn't sell and they kill it off permanently.

The GTO was an exsisting car that was quickly modified to be able to sell here in the US. It was a stop-gap product between the 4th and 5th gen F body that Lutz wanted. It was a flop due to lackluster styling, dealer markups, and some odd quirks such as the power slide seat to access the rear seats. They don't want a repeat of that with the new Camaro.
