  • Photoshoot with Vince and Mike

Alright well I have no fbody to take a picture of, so I did a quick photoshoot trying out my camera with night pictures. I have a lot of learning to do on it for adjusting, some of them came out pretty sweet but others were pretty grainy. Here's some of the pics:

        I like the 2nd one...nice rich black on black(LOL).
Ain't it fun learning a new camera? At least it is digital, I can't think I much I spent on film doing experiments.

what type of camera? point and shoot or dslr?

one thing to experiment with as well as understand is the ISO. if it allows you to shoot with manual ISO selection, then choose a lower ISO. 800-1600+ will give you the noise you see in a few pictures. try shooting at 400 or lower. to compensate, youll notice your camera's shutter staying open longer...the longer it stays open, the more light that comes in, but that will also allow it to pick up on any movement. getting a tripod will allow you to leave the shutter open without moving the camera, thus keeping your shots crisp and sharp. to get those low angles, buy a cheap tabletop tripod from best buy or something.

if youre using a point and shoot and it doesnt allow manual control of ISO, use any night mode. it will change the shutter speed and ISO according to a lack of light, and this is where the tripod will come in handy because any movement will make it blur. the night mode will help keep the noise and grain low, but keep the exposure high.

i see now in the shadows that you were using a tripod. good call.

those shots on the tripod turned out nice, and thats exactly why.

                      LOL Doug, that's great!

Yeah, I used a tripod for all of the pics, and I was just experimenting with the exposure and what not. I'll have to read up more on how to adjust all the settings. I know that the ISO is manual adjustable, just don't know how to adjust it yet.
