  • Never should have sold...

I was perusing the Ebay today and ran across this...

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/68-Fi...QQcmdZViewItem

I got to thinking, what ever happened to my dad's old '68. This car is the right color, wheels, white top, motor, trans, and in similiar condition as my dads when he sold it. It is also within two hours of our old home in Fox River Grove, Il.

Anybody else every wonder what happens to the cars they "let go"?

Oh and check this thing out...

Also I did not know the Hot Rod Magazine Camaro was up for grabs. $125K as she is yours boys!

yea my dad wishes he never sold his 70 z28 too, he has tried to find it or figure out where it ended up but has had no luck. Is there any way to track a car's history if you don't have the actual vin in hand anymore? sec of state office able to trace it or anything?

Nothing I've owned but once I get my 98+ WS6, M6, Ttops, charcoal leather interior, in silver/pewter/SOS/NBM I'm never selling it. It's like my dad, he's had cars come and go but has always kept his 1973 Mustang. He bought it from his mom back in 1974 after she drove it for a year and wanted something new.

Its safe to say that green firebirds is your dads... i doubt thats coincidence.

My dad had a 76 olds 442 with a 350 rocket too. black with white stripes. he sold it with 170k miles on it for $150 in pretty good condition too. he ran into the guy a couple years later and it had 225k on it, still original. he also wishes he'd have never sold that car, you almost never see them anymore.

Yeah that was the year the front end changed. I think the back stayed the same though??? Can't remember. Nope, you don't see them. there was a 74 down the road from my grandma's that I looked at a couple times about 8 years ago but the guy wanted to much for it so it sat there and rotted away instead, bastard. 73-75 are considered the bastard years for those too, but I love the way mine looked.

yea i think youre right... the front end wasnt very attractive on that car, but on a whole i still liked it. I wouldnt be surprised if a lot of them met their death at circle tracks and figure 8s like monte carlos over the years. They were nice, but at the same time not worth saving to a lot of people.
