Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!

Friend of mine has Typhoon. Her dad bought it new and put 13k miles on it. Gave it to her for her 18th birthday 3 years ago. She's put like 45k on it since then. Drives it all summer long. It's red and grey, but no pics for ya.

weren't they detuned or something because they were faster than the vettes at the time? They didn't want that happening so they detuned it a bit. They are definitely quick vehicles

not detuned per se. underrated for two reasons.
1/ gm doesnt want any car making more power than the vette, let alone a truck
2/ the trans was only rated for 380 ft/lbs or so. bone stock sy/tys put out over 400 ft/lbs of torque. and so they wanted to avoid constant warranty issues. *the numbers may be a little off but this is the jist of it.
it has run 9s flat trapping over 155mph at altitude on street tires with a 1.7 short time.
so ya, you could say it needs it.
Yeah, I'd say so.....

I dont know about the Sy and Ty but thats one reason the Fiero was discontinued. The V6 (3.1?) were pretty competitive with the 'vettes so they pulled the plug.

I think it is because I take it in and out all the time, the rubber has just stretched out, especially at the bottom where it is really thin. It annoys me more then anything.
