  • Bought another F-Body, back into the scene again

Well, after my last Camaro was sold a few years ago, i had been waiting to buy a brand new Camaro this upcoming spring now that my son is starting kindergarten. But with the unexpected arrival of child #2 this November, i was beginning to realize that the chances of a new ZL1 or 1LE were getting pretty slim with the wife not going back to work full time, so i have been shopping and considering another LS1 car to keep me busy until the planets align for a new Camaro purchase, so after searching and waiting for a 6-speed, T-Top car to appear, i ended up settling on the below car.

    1999 Camaro SS in NBM
    6 speed
    T-Top
    Leather
    55,000 miles
    New C6 Z06 repros and tires 275/40/17's
Pace Setter ceramic coated long tubes with off road y-pipe and GMMG exhaust with Corsa clone tips
SLP Cold Air, STB, and Frame Ties
Tubular LCA's and Panhard, but i haven't climbed under to see what brand other than red, so possibly founders or?

Needs some cleaning and a few fixes, like the missing t-top holders in the trunk along with the holders mounting studs..... Clueless why someone would chop these out?
Needs new drivers side window switch holder panel, and dash pad is cracked, but interior is doable, and will be getting removed and dynamatted this winter...

The underhood needs some serious cleaning and attention, but i realize not everyone wants to be able to eat off there engine.

Anyways.....here is my new project toy, glad to be back cruising. Anyone in Clinton Twp hit me up and we can hit the North Gratiot Cruise next weekend

Pardon the cheap pics, i haven't had time to properly clean and snap some good pics as of yet.

    Thx

Find any speaker wires in the back? Could have had some subs in it.

It did have the t-top holders init and is a factory t-top car, there are the holes in the carpet, and you can see where the cut off the factor mounting studs. Heading out this week to junkyard hunt for holders and to get some measurements for replacement studs to either weld in, or drill out the existing ones and thru-bolt new studs in. There was some custom stereo crap in there, as there are holes drilled in the hatch trunk pan for mounting stuff, and there are a couple of blaupunkt tweeters added into the doors.

Hate the damn dummy temp guages in the 99's. It freaked me out the first day the damn guage stayed on 210 no matter moving or sitting, i thought the sending unit was bad until i did some searching. My previous LS1 cars were both 98's and they had real functioning temp readings.

                  My 99 wasn't a dummy gauge

My radiator cap went bad when I was up at gvsu visiting my girlfriend. My gauge let me know I had a problem and fast lol.

By dummy gauge, i mean that it doesn't follow actual temp fluctuations when the fans come on and cool the car down. It will show when the car overheats, but not small changes induced by the fans. If you search it out, it is well documented that GM did it to the 99+ cars, whereas both my 98's would actually show closer to real temp and you could see when the fans kicked on, that the temp would go down. This thing heats up quickly as the car does, and stays steady at 210 unless it overheats. Small thing, but i noticed it my first day driving.

These are previous owners pics, so i can't claim that garage, but i will say that my garage is bigger than the pictured one, i have a 3 1/2 car garage, but it's a 2 1/2 garage with a 1 car added onto the back that i have shelves and such in it. I'll post pics of it later, i'm at work and they block photobucket usage on work PC's.
