We've made progress on it. It's just at the point of needing body work. Both paint and the floors replaced. Something we need to outsource. Once thats done it will be back on the road in a few months.Originally posted by Lucky SOB View Post...actively restoring? or the same pace of restoring as 4 years ago

well me and my dad bought a 95 blazer with a blown motor, rebuilt the motor and i took it out one night to go to my gfs(i was only 15) and i had my first speed run and it ended with dukes of hazarding a ditch at 50 or so and completely totaling it buckled roof ect. yeah that was not a good next day when i had to tell him... lol so i bought another 95 from new york and put my motor in it. and now ended up with my 2012 jeep pat.97 TA AI 355

technically, my first car was a '96 Pontiac Grand Prix coupe. looked like this:

bought it for $1900. Was in pretty good shape, I think it had 119k or something like that. I was about 15 1/2 at the time. I sold a month later for $2100 (drove it maybe two or three times) because I got this beauty:

It was a '95 Camaro 3.4 auto. I was happy with the Grand Prix, but this just happened to be sitting out in a place where I literally drove past it every single day, so for kicks I stopped in to take a look. The guy only wanted $3500 for it. Polo Green Metallic over tan leather interior, t-tops, tint, factory Delco-Bose speakers (incl. subwoofer), 99k miles. Perfect inside and out. I ended up paying $3200 for it. I loved that car to death...so much that I rolled it going 80 mph a week before graduating high school. I think my brother might still have some pics of the carnage, but I don't have any decent ones. Gutted it out the next summer (you have NO idea how much glass I vacuumed out of that thing), and a bunch of the parts from that car currently reside in my Z28 (rear bumper, salad shooters, almost the entire interior--even the carpet).

The first car I drove was my parents. It was a 1989 Geo Spectrum.... At least it was a 5-speed, but I took my life in my hands every time I passed someone.
I'll do run down of my vehicles though.
89 Geo Spectrum - Parents
85 GMC S15 - Parents
94 Z71
89 Cutlass Supreme International
85 Z28
95 S10
98 F150 (Biggest POS EVER)
2005 Pontiac Vibe - Only vehicle I have purchased new, and it now has 170K on it, and a little cosmetic damage.
99 Sonoma High Rider (One of my favorite vehicles)
01 Ford Ranger
99 Z28
06 Escape Hybrid
So out of those I still have the escape, the camaro, and the vibe. My dad was the original owner of the 94 Z71. I bought it from him in 2000 with 210K on it, had it for a year and sold it to my brother. He finally turned it in during the cash for clunkers and it had like 360K on it, and was totally destroyed.

The cars I've owned in order:
'78 Trans Am
'80 Trans Am
'81 Turbo Trans Am Pace Car
'80 Honda Accord - ran like a top...completely rusted to hell...a buddy gave it to me for free...actually made money on it 'cause he left $4 in change in the ashtray...
'81 Pontiac Phoenix - yep, a X-car...looked like crap but ran great and was relatively comfortable...traded a couple of comic books for it...
'92 Geo Metro convertible - an honest 55 mpg on the highway...when it ran...
'94 Toyota Celica - yes, the Metro was that bad a car...this thing was bullet-proof...boring, but bullet-proof...
'99 Chevy Z-71 extended cab truck - every option...gawd, I hated this thing...could not wait to get rid of it...
'01 Grand Prix GTP - great car
'04 Grand Prix GTP Comp G - even better car
'94 Chevy Lumina Euro - bought off the 'rents 7 years ago for $1500...had 72,000 miles...still have it...has 133,000 now...runs like a top...needs brakes now...but they're cheap...
'68 Corvette convertible - LeMans blue...only options were the 350 hp 327 and the M21 close ratio 4-speed...but I have not missed it one bit, 'cause I traded it straight up FOR...
'89 Turbo Trans Am Indy Pace Car - 11th car built...6th Festival car numbered by the track steward and #55 Festival car at the race...nope, haven't missed the Vette one bit...
'08 Pontiac G8 GT - White Hot with red/black sport interior...matches the '81...
All in all, not that many cars really...Last edited by 81DaytonaPaceCar; March 1st, 2012, 06:31 PM.Originally posted by Redd8407I WANT NOISE! SPEED!
