• Well guys, my car is just 50 miles shy of hitting 40,000 miles. Surprisingly, after rolling $3,000 of negative equity when I traded in my Trailblazer to purchase this car I'm still at a point where I could trade the car in and break even. I've been talking to BeckyD@RodgersChevrolet and have come to the conclusion it's time to trade her in!

Today, my dad and I spent the afternoon stripping the aftermarket "bolt-ons" off of the car.

Admittedly yesterday out on Woodward and then today stripping the parts off I was feeling pretty nostalgic about the car. It's been a fun 2 years. Last night on the way home from Woodward, I had some rice banger try to race me on Hall Rd by Gratiot. Walked away and I wasn't even trying.

Last pictures of the Camaro brothers together, and a shot of Angie's car with Clifford.

Dad helping wrench on the car. We had to remove the oil catch can, intake manifold spacer, cold air intake, ported throttle body, MGW short throw shifter, my radar detector and my custom car mount with charger.

I did all the work under the car while dad sat in the seat and did the work in the car.

        Aaaand all stock.

        • Why sell it? You didnt get rid of the 4th gen. If you liked it i woulda kept it. Pay it off and do what ever. You will break more than even once its pd off.

I'm at 40,000 miles and it's only a 2012. The more miles I put on it, the lower the value is going to go. If it weren't for that 3 grand negative equity I rolled into the car, I could have been walking away with the car worth more than I owe. Instead, I'm breaking even and not having to roll a bunch of dough into the next car.

I was talking to Angie about getting a "daddy mobile" but she, unbelievably, told me that I needed to stick with a Camaro and she'll get the mommy mobile when her lease is up next year. So I'm getting another v6 5th gen like Jon said. I am upgrading to a nicer model trim and getting a 1LT so I can get the 7" MyLink screen and some of the newer features. Becky's also putting an SS exhaust onto the car for a great deal, so I'll have a better sounding exhaust right from the beginning. Angie and I are meeting with Becky tomorrow to pick up the car.

Surprisingly, because of the deals that are on the car right now and since I'm not rolling negative equity into it, I'm going to be lowering my monthly car payment by $10 a month. We also called insurance and unbelievably it's going to lower insurance by $50 because of some special that StateFarm is doing on new car insurance.

NOT the same car, but here's what it looks like:

                            • Since it's a 1LT it's coming with real rims instead of steelies, so I'm leaving the aftermarket rims on Clifford. I do get to keep the steelies with the winter tires on them, though.

                              • Sounds like thats a better deal for you then. If your going to get summer wheels I would go for the ten spoke 1LE/ ZL1 wheels. love those things.
