Black and dark colors are really hard to get just right. Looks like Joel did a great job!
I just wheeled out a 2005 Dodge, thought I was done when I pulled it outside. LOL...nope back in again to take care of some swirl marks.

What do you use Joel? I use a foam pad for the final stage (wool for the 1st 2,2 different colors, 2 different compounds). But the 2nd time I did it I used the Wizards finish compound for dark colors. That seamed to work a lot better.

I almost never use wool pads. When i do its usually to follow up after wetsanding. With nicer cars like ryans (and most of the cars I do) I start with a yellow pad and swirl remover, then finish a black waffle pad and seal polish. The yellow pad is usually enough to do most of the correction on nicer finishes. Sometimes I spot-buff with a wool pad to get the deeper scratches.

We have a whole system brought in for us at the body shop from Presto.
        All "body shop safe"
2 wool pads, different colors for different compounds (1st stage , 2nd stage)
Then the foam pad for a finishing pad.
All the compounds match the color pads being used. It's a pretty nice set up.

Yea thats completely different from my strategy and would have to be really well formulated not to end up with swirls. I have never been happy with a single foam stage following up any kind of wool. 2 is the minimum for me.

Oh, nothing I suppose. I've done that before. Ha. I just actually need to buy shit...I only have spray on wax at this point. Really need to three-stage the car again.

Yep. Hmm, now I gotta watch for wax to go on sale. And recommendations?

I use ardex topaz paste or magnashine past. Both the same thing. Excellent wax and its about $7 a tin.
