  • 4th Annual Hamilton Car Show pics

I'm alittle behind in sharing these pics, but here they are....

As some of you know for the past 4 years I've helped organize a car show in our small town of Hamilton, Mi.. All the proceeds go to the graduating high school senior class. They use the funds to help pay for their "lock-in" party at the end of the year. I've always felt like this is a worthy cause, because it allows the kids a chance to enjoy themselves, and hang out with friends in a controlled environment. Versus, being out on the streets enjoying themselves, and possibly make bad decisions.

Previously we've held the show towards the end April, and the turnout had been dwindling (mainly due to weather). So this year I convinced the committee I work with to move the show to Sept 25th. I'm glad we did because even with so so weather we had a record turnout with 87 cars in attendance, and we profited right around $1200 for the senior class. Thank you to those from the site that came out, I really appreciate your support.

    Enjoy the pics............

We use the buckets as another way to raise money. Each car owner puts a bucket in front of their car, and the public places quarters in the buckets. The car with the most quarters in their bucket at the end of the day wins our "People's Choice" award.....in essence, if someone wanted to gaurantee they win a trophy all they have to do is fill their bucket (and we allow more than just quarters to be placed in the bucket).

It's seems a little corny, but believe it or not it's been well received, and we manage to raise another couple hundred dollars this way.

Looks like F-bodies were well represented at the show. Will have to put this event on my calendar for next year as it is not too far from home.
I know what schools have to go through for grad night party funding, as my wife was on the committee for both of my kids at our high school.
Thanks for sharing the pictures, Scott.

Very nice...and a pretty good idea...

As a side note, I don't think I've ever seen a 55 (I think) Corvette with that type of plexiglass roof...ever...very cool to see...

You know Jeff, I was thinking the same thing......and then I was thinking, is that some type prototype hartop. So I did some research, turns out a hardtop was only available thru aftermarket companies for '54 and '55. Still haven't figured out if that's what that top is (could still be a GM prototype), but regardless it's pretty cool.

Nice pics. I like the color on the charger, but was never a fan of that body style!
