We went to the Mecum auction in St. Charles, Illinios yesterday just to spectate. Some very nices rides and some not so nice, thought I'd share pics of some that caught my eye.........



































If I was forced to buy a new Mustang it'd be this one....



This was a real '69 Trans Am, not a clone....

This is the first time I've ever seen a Tojan close up and personal, and I must admit it's a pretty impressive car.
















And if I had to own only one pleasure car it would be this one..............







And I'd use this to tow it around.........

Special edition TA that is Uber rare. There was also a special edition of the late 70's camaro that was turbo'd, diff companies though. Not many special edition cars in the late 70's, thats why they are so special.

Whats really crazy is that 20 years later another Trans Am special edition was done, the Mecham. Same guys I think?

That's not a ZL-1 Nate. Just a "regular" COPO (engine is not aluminum)

(nowadays it could easily be a clone, too?)

I agree, I too would like prefer it not have the GSX stripes, but I like the 1971's over the 1970's for a few reasons.....

1. '71 was the first year you could get the rear N25 exhaust
2. '71 is the year I was born
3. I actually prefer the '71 grill over the '70 (I know, I'm probably one of the few who does.)
4. because I had '71 GS 350 Hardtop, Cortez Gold, w/N25 rear exhaust....There aren't to many days that go by that I don't regret selling that car.

It's a Mecham TA, like Nate said they were a dealer out of Arizona that modified Firebirds, and did so for a number of years. Pretty rare and cool cars.
