You should check out Super Chevy's "Stealth TPI" article - they made extremely impressive numbers (not just for TPI - but for SBCs in general) - using ported TPI plenums and runners, slightly ported stock L98 heads, a mild Comp Cam, headers, Fast XFI engine management, oh, with a stroker crank (turning it into a 383). It made 534 lb-ft of torque and 458 HP. And it made power all the way to 6000 rpm.Originally posted by 350 89 Iroc View PostWhen we swap the motors we are keeping the fuel injectors and the factory TPI

Something like that may be in the future, but for now I think a 383 with a stock TPI( i know it's like having a governor) with proper tuning should get us in the neighborhood of 320 h.p. Which is plenty for a 17 year old kid to be driving oround with.Originally posted by MP81 View PostYou should check out Super Chevy's "Stealth TPI" article - they made extremely impressive numbers (not just for TPI - but for SBCs in general) - using ported TPI plenums and runners, slightly ported stock L98 heads, a mild Comp Cam, headers, Fast XFI engine management, oh, with a stroker crank (turning it into a 383). Hahaha - true that. I wish my IROC had that much power when I was 17 - or ever.Originally posted by SEIKI View PostSomething like that may be in the future, but for now I think a 383 with a stock TPI( i know it's like having a governor) with proper tuning should get us in the neighborhood of 320 h.p. My old Camaro has a set of Edelbrock TES headers and a 3" Y-pipe. One of the downpipes from the header has a giant hole in it though from the oh-so-careful forklift driver. Rest of the system is good. s.reef has the car now.Gone but not forgotten: 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z
