Just the sounds cannot be duplicated...I have listened to this movie through the stereo with the TV off just for the sounds...the Daytona downshifting coming into the gas station is just epic...as is the sounds of the various cars going through Times Square with the skyscrapers on each side...just completely epic...

The red & black cars are PANTERA's. Italian built sports cars w/ mid-engine 351c. Very fast. Worked on one for Terry Hanks (owner of Sundance Chevrolet) back when I worked at a Ford dealership.

Really!? Are they prototypes? I have never seen those anywhere. Is there a special name for these particular Pantera's where I can look them up online?

I've not seen those things before...but they're definitely not Panteras...the doors, windows and mirrors are perplexing...the faux leading quarter window and mirrors look cheap and out of place...as do the 4 quick-release pins holding the hood on...WTF?

                      Definitely not a production-built car.

And they do scream of the late 80s/early 90s very low volume coach-built cars that were the rage then (i.e. the Pontiac Tojan)...

On a separate note - that looks like the Ford GT I took a picture of out on Woodward in the background in this pic:

Yup, Brian, looks like it could be the same one. Ford GT's are my favorite Ford (from recent years). I was glad they had the guts to built it! Good for them. That ones nicely done up in Gulf Oil Racing colors, very nostalgic. (though the colors look to be off just a little)

^^^ Probably not the exact same one...there was an option on the Ford GT where you could actually order it in the Gulf livery from the factory...not to mention that it's a common color scheme for the clones that are out there...

But a classic, iconic scheme none the less...
