  • 4th of July Car Show in Corunna

Took the newly-renovated Meowmix to its first car show today. the small town of Corunna is right down the road from me, and the yearly show at the park there is getting bigger every year (probably because of the interwebs). 259 cars were in attendance, with most of them being classics...and an older voting audience that preferred classics, judging by the results

I met Gary, who lives a block down from me in the village....told him about the site and he already knew about it and attended the meet and greet, lol. He has a sweet ride.

Anyways, I took just a couple pics of the car all shined up for the first time and all.

    Hey Phil,
Nice Camaro, I checked it out and noticed how clean it was. nice job.
I was there with the CETA. Didn't get any pics, forgot the camara... There were a LOT of nice cars there though and well worth going.

I didn't get a chance to come by and check out your car, as I didn't walk around until the end of the show. I was told that when the show started 15 years ago or so there were only about 10 cars showing up....so it has come a long ways. I'm not so sure about only having two categories (1949 being the dividing line) but I didn't expect to win anything anyways. The only car that was newer than '69 that placed in the top 48 was an '85 Corvette, lol. I lot of people like our stuff, but everyone like 60's muscle cars and stuff, and there's no way to compete against that.

I left a little after three. Got to hot, even with all of the shade. This was the first year I've done the show but I'll plan on next year and get there a little earlier... There are a few local shows coming up if you are interested. One in Gaines at the end of the month and Byron puts on a nice show in September. You may want to come out to EVI's criuse Friday evening in Swartz Creek. I am planning on it, be a good place to meet up.
