  • WOOT i got a DD!!!!

no longer will the SS be called for everyday duties! i picked up a dailey driver finally! it's a metallic gray 99 Ford Ranger, reg cab short box. 4 banger with an auto....should get about 10times the gas mileage as the SS

it's a little rough. has 100K miles and needs some TLC. i got tomarrow off, so im gonna go in and clean everything twice!

front and rear bumpers are a little messed up. the rear was bent all down...but a little bit of Bernz-O-matic a floor jack under the bumper and a few friends jumping in the bed of the truck straitened that out enough until i get new ones!

i dunno...just thought i'de share, i was into mini-trucks before my SS (i loved my S10...RIP) so by next year this thing will probably be lowered a few inches and have some nice looking 18" rims! will be tinted within a few days as well!

how do you know? Yeah my s-10 is 2wd longbed reg. cab so theres no weight at all in the back besides some cement blocks and a cement septic tank cover in the back along with my spare. That ranger is a little shorter so the weight distributuion will probably be better.

Dont. Just dont. its a ford, and lowering + rims + winter = bad.

haha it's not gonna be till the spring...and people are just too afraid of winter...i drove 1 winter with my lowered S10 and shitty tires and never got stuck. i just throw salt water softner bags in it....i drove my camaro 2 winters and i NEVER got stuck either...i've never had a problem with 2wd stuff...winter driving is 95% driver i believe...it will look nice once im done with it...clean and tastefully modified a little bit!

Yep. . . I drove my camaro last winter without even the luxury of ABS, and I never once got stuck, wrecked, or anything.

Looks sweet Matt, pretty cool color! Hopefully i'll be picked up a s10 daily driver here real quick as well and we can both rock the f-body's on the nice days and mini trucks on crappy days!

Bah..Rangers SUCK! I love my S trucks. I've had 9 of them since 1995 when I picked up my first one. My current Sonoma is lowered 4" front and 2" rear and sits just about level. I have my 17x8 KMC Bruisers for summer and the stocker 15's with snow tires for winter. I put 2 100lb cast iron tractor weights in the back and I get around just fine. I've almost always driven RWD in the winter. The one FWD car I owned i wound up getting stuck more than any RWD car I had owned in the winters! A little weight and a good set of snows do wonders. I recommend Firestone made WinterForce snows. Harder compound than Bridgestone Blizzaks and last longer and have just as good of traction on snow. They do have a little less grip on ice than Blizzaks though.
