  • Want a poster of YOUR FBody?!

Okay, some of you may know that I am currently going to school at Western Michigan University. Well I work a lot with photographs and have accumulated enough equipment to create great photos and prints as large as 40" x 27" (A standard movie poster size). I have already printed many posters to give away to friends and family or keep for myself. I am now thinking of extending my profession to car all auto enthusiasts I encounter.

Here is what will happen. We will meet at a pre determined location agreed upon by the customer and I. Once we get to the spot car detailing may be required incase you ran into a nasty swarm of bugs or something. After that I will proceed with a photo shoot of a minimum 300 bracketed photos or more (Equal to 100 photos, extra photos won't cost more).

Then the rest of our interaction will be via the inter webs! I will E-mail you the proofs (I could mail them physically if preferred). Then you will select the photos that you want to be printed and mailed to your household. Photo sizes are to be determined but will vary, mainly I want to stick with large prints but table top frame prints are not out of the question.

Of course this is a rough idea and hence the creation of this thread. I will be showing examples of my work at the meet n greets and other auto events that I attend. I'm extending the offer and idea to this F-Body community first because we are all in Michigan and so it seems doable to travel to your locations.

Here are examples of the poster sizes and how cool they can look (Even in a super dork like environment)!

40"x27" on the bottom which is ALL IMAGE! The white borders are to be cut off before shipment. This is a print for Aggressive Performance. The other two prints are smaller in common poster frames found in most super stores. The red TA is mine.

Hanging in my room, Spawn, Alien and various WoW Creatures protect that and my HOT WHEELS!

Again this is an IDEA, I'm not selling anything. If this is illegal to post, I'm sorry and it can be removed with no hard feelings. But I would like to learn how to make this available through MI fbody some day. Also I didn't mean to make the poll public.

That's the point of this thread. I want to know if people are interested and what everyone thinks is a fair price.

Unfortunately I could NOT print a poster off of peoples pictures that they would send me through E-mail. The photo would need to be a RAW file in order to do the proper editing and not make it look grainy. RAW files are so large that they probably wouldn't send through E-mail. Also most point and prey cameras can't even shoot in RAW.

It seems enough people are interested so I will investigate this even further and talk to B about a sponsorship if I decided to go through with it. If anything I can probably keep this exclusive through MI Fbody and try to keep the prices low.

                  Thanks guys for your opinions!

Out of curiosity, what type of printer/plotter would you be using?

                      Epson Plotter 44" Paper Roll

To be honest the prints themselves cost me around 25 - 30 bones in materials.

If you've got the right plotter...yes, they could very well cost that much...got a model number?

I am currently having my car illustrated. However after that is completed I may definitely be in the market for a Poster print and photo shoot.
