Cool truck Scott and VERY cool story to go with it. Could of fooled me with the mirrors though. Most of the trucks like that have larger mirrors.

Thanks everyone!! And to respond to a couple of the comments/questions.......
Yes, the truck will never get sold. I'll part with every other vehicle we own before this truck. I've often told my wife if it came down to this truck or our house, she better get use to living in a truck camper!! LOL
Funny the mirrors came up, last night while I was cleaning it one of my friends, who's never seen the truck either stopped by, and he asked me the same thing. The common belief is that they all had the much larger camper style mirrors, but the mirrors I have are the standard C10 mirror. The others were an opition or part of a package. When Grandpa ordered the truck he checked off the Cheyenne pkg which was the top of line in '76, but did not chose any other options. Well maybe the engine/trans was an upgrade, not sure how they got packaged up. But it doesn't have air, has crank windows, and RADIO DELETE........so basically the base pkg of the Cheyenne model line.

I "inherited" Dad's C1500 Silverado, I think it's a '90 or '91. It's not in nearly as good condition as yours is, but I understand the sentimental value behind it. Glad to see you are keeping it in good condition.Nick H.
