There was one recently in GMHTP that had 18s with thicker tires on it. IMHO made the car look 10 times beter. I like the berger car MORE than the stocker. Why they are only making 20 of them is beyond me. If people want them, build them. Eric L

I still think its a crock when a car is DESIGNED to be rare and expensive. Limited build numbers to qualify for a race class, etc is one thing, but come on. IMHO all this crap stems from people seeing the price of what boss 429, superbirds, hemi darts, etc are going for and they are trying to recreate it. Theres something to be said for someone who had a car back when it was just an old car, THAN became valuable. Rather than someone who pays a rediculous ammount for a new car that was designed to be rare, come on. Berger, nickey, etc didnt build these cars 40 years ago to please a bunch of number nurse maids, they built them for performance, but unfortunately that is what its turned into. JMHO, Eric L

I think it has more to do with the late start into the model year & the amount of time it takes to build one. And the fact that they are doing these all in house. Berger really does not want to be trying to sell and deliver 2010's when the 2011 are arriving. I'm sure They will continue to build a limited number Berger SS's each year.

And, besides that, there was a considerable outlay, money wise to build these cars. 20 superchargers, 20 sets of wheels, 20 Hurst Shifters, 20 pairs of larger rear tires, etc, etc. There was no way to know if they well would sell, or how long it would take for a return on that investment. Now they know that they will sell (All 20 cars, plus the prototype are now SOLD) so they may make more than 20 for the 2011 model year run.
RIP Doug,You will always be remembered
