And that, sir, would be an even odds wager...they've been making mid-engine Corvette prototypes since 1968...fortunately they've stayed true to Zora Arkus Duntov's original vision for a production version.

Now, what would you think of an AWD option for a Vette?

      Added weight, no thanks.

Sure it gets better traction, but most supercars don't have AWD, or if they do, it definitely weighs them down.

Ehh, that can be debated...but of all the Corvette options, it is the most likely...

It looks good for a hot wheels car.
the split window is a neat idea.... but should stay in the 60's
it was a good attempt for it but they tried way too hard to where it looks terrible!
AWD i think would not be necessary at all unless you live here in michigan and want to drive it in the winter. if its traction your all about you can do just as well with just rwd.
          just my opinion....

AWD has a major advantage over a RWD vehicle unless your running single digit 1/4 mile times and drag racing all the time. I would be very open to an AWD vette.

Of course, for my fun driving (which is usually when I drive more than 40 miles) I always have the Camaros to drive.
It's a nice thought but I wonder what it would do to your electricity bill? There's no such thing as free energy. I'd be interested to see a cost comparison study if there are any out there.

I was talking to my dad today and he said they have two of these over at his shop at the Tech Center. Guess design staff is doing some things to them for the auto show. But the overall consensus over there is that it is strictly a prototype. Possibly some ideas could come from it but the new Vette will look nothing like it. (thank God)

From what I've read, charging the Volt will not be expensive. Something like leaving a couple of lights on over night.

AWD would be cool but then you'd have to do 4-wheel peel outs...
If it's weight they're after and they're going to use carbon fiber anyways why not just update the C6 a little but replace virtually everything with CF?

                    Used to own a Firebird.

It really has to do with the amperage it pulls.

Looking at the brochure for that BYD (Chinacrap) electric car, the charger pulls 16A...with 110 Volts, that equates to a LOT of power......but it also goes 320 miles on a charge...
