all of it is complete garbage, it looks terrible. My bet is it won't look like that concept at all and will still be front engine rwd V8.

I don't know if these are new or old (only ones I've run across are spy shots from the Transformers set), but I just got them in an email and thought I'd share.

I think this is a coolest angle as it shows the inspiration for the design. It is a little wild but hey it is a corvette. They are supposed to be wild to beat back the hoards of euro supercars like lambos, koeniggsegg, and buggatti. Plus everyone said the same thing about the 5th gen camaro and the 6th gen corvette.

It seems like I remember reading somewhere that the Corvette Stingray Concept (shown here in this thread) was purely a concept and never intended to be heading for production. It said the C7 would be more of an evolution of the C6, than a radical departure. It also said the much rumored mid-engine Corvette (talked about since the 70's) would never happen, deemed too expensive to produce.

I did a Google search, but couldn't find the article. There is a lot about the C7 over on www.gminsidenews.com if you do a search there.

But then again, I may have dreamed all that! LOL They say there are three signs of old age, the first one is a failing memory .... and I can't remember the other two.

You read the mid-engine part on here I believe... or atleast I read the same thing. I've heard mixed on the Stingray concept being the C7. I've heard from a few of the guys who handle the Stingray concept that they're treating it just like the Camaro - if it turns out to be really popular like the Camaro was then it might see production. If not, it's just a concept.

Looks like a re-bodied kit car. If you smooth out the front and rear and get rid of the cadillac headlights, your right back to square one. Grab a new sheet of paper.

Last I heard, the C7 is staying front engine/rear trans (current setup) (also talks of no V8, only 3.6di twin turbo)
Side/rear top view looks nice IMO front and ass need to be re done, but we're forgetting:

so they'll prob do the same thing w/ the vette... tone it down, refine it, and oly take 1-2 details from the concept, like the rear split windown, maybe the rims...lol

The side shot looks like something that could possibly be incorporated into a future Corvette, but I hate the front and rearend. It's just too far removed from what I think a Corvette should be.

Look what they did to the Volt concept:

I thought the Volt Concept was a great looking car, as well. Even better in person than in those pics. However, an electric car needs all the advantages it can get, including aerodynamics. The wind tunnel dictated the changes to the production Volt. Taking that into consideration, I don't think the production Volt is a bad looking car. Certainly not a interesting as the concept, but not too bad.

If I was still workiing, and needed to drive every day, I would definately be buying a Volt. 90% of my driving, on a weekly basis is less than 40 miles at a time. I could conceveably never have to put gas in a Volt, running on the battery charge alone.

Of course, for my fun driving (which is usually when I drive more than 40 miles) I always have the Camaros to drive.

If they just keep the over exaggerated front fender humps and rear split glass (ALA C3 style) I'd be happy.
