as far as performance modds, i was thinking of doing: intake, full exhaust, gears and shift kit.

Judging from the video that was posted here last night, I'd say the best mod you could do is a cam. A lot depends on how much money you have and how much of it you are willing to spend, plus what your personal goals are. Do you want to race, or do you just want some great exhaust music for cruisn'?

Check out the forum here, and come to the Bdub night on Saturday to talk to people and find out who has a car like yours, and then ask them about their mods. You'll meet some cool folks, and hopefully get a better idea of what you want to do, and in what order to do it in.
