  • Detoxx races in Mexico

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUqmdUGJQwc

All these runs were amongst friends. The run with me and the stock camaro was my friend wanting to race me and see how far he has to go. It also gives people a good idea of how a stock ls1 will do against a A4 cam only ls1. It was pretty good until I got traction.

These races in Mexico intrigue me...I really doubt that the locals like gringos going down there and tearing up their roads...and what happens with the cops actually stop you?

Mexican cops are only slightly better than Turkish prison guards.

And then what happens to your car when the cops do get you...not sure I even want to consider that...

And the locals are probably calling their local drug lords to come get you instead of the cops anyway...the local drug lords are less corrupt...

      But it is intriguing...

FYI...don't know if you can fix it or not, but it's "Here I come"...

I think a lot of people (idk about detoxx) say that they go to mexico so that they are not on camera in the USA doing "bad things"

I know lots of people on tech and other forums do that.

Seeing that he lives in Texas, he probably was in mexico

Oh no, I don't doubt that...and I understand why they do it.

Just has a whole new set of risks involved...the question is, is it really worth the new risks to avoid a reckless driving ticket?

And why the hell would you want to post evidence of this behavior on YouTube in the first place?

That's the part that really gets me...you're just incriminating yourself...intentionally...

Were you really pulling away from a 500hp stang? And does your car have MI plates on it driving in Texas because there's no way you'd be able to get away with longtubes there and no cats...unless you have like 10 cats making up your Y-pipe and cat-back. Very nice vid, all mine are digitally created using CGI technology.

Yeah he pulled that stang pretty good and from a roll too, that guy must have some inflated numbers or he can't drive worth a shit losing to a stalled auto from a roll like that. Nice runs your car sounds sick and moves out

what are you talking about? registerring your car to MI is how you get around emissions regulations in other states.

That's what I figured, so then do you have to keep your place of residency as MI or just keep registering in MI every year?

unfortunately, when you do this (at least in california anyway) the state does pay attention. a lot of people register their vehicles in other states to avoid the cost of registering in california. you get slapped with an interesting fine

A lot of people just use their parents address, or a cabin, rental property, ect.

Most states dont catch it. There was a huge article on digg about it a long time ago.

having never been to Mexico and no desire to go there, I too, am wondering what the consequences would be should the mexican police catch you? Worse yet, one of the drug cartels.. I'll stick to the drag strip.. Car does sound great, though, Corey!
